The project is supported by the "Regional Environment Protection Area BALLONS DES VOSGES", by the villages Fréland and Lapoutroie, and by the association ESPOIR, Colmar.

Two sculptures "Rencontre" or "Man and Woman" are situated on a pass between the two communities and symbolise their good relationship.

Many inhabitants of the two communities and some people being cared for by the association ESPOIR have participated in creating these sculptures. They have made one hundred heads, faces, and portraits in glazed ceramics. (click to the pictures for details)

The sculptures of light concrete, covered on one side with mosaic of stones and ceramics are 4 meters high.
