Diving and Jumping

Andreas Edzard  Laurent Hunzinger

Nine figures lead the visitor walking towards the entrance of the new swimming pool at Colmar, Aqualia (2003)

This idea originated in the art of Ancient Greek: the diver of Paestum symbolizes the moment between life and death.
Here the scene is looked at less profoundly: It is the dramatic moment when the diver plunges into the water.

The diver is shown as the empty space between two forms and also as a positive form.

The sculptured side of the statue symbolizes waves.
Dominant colour of the mosaic is blue.

The height of the figures goes from 0.70 up to 4.50 meters.
