Mosaic sculptures:
The techniques which are used used to create these sculptures are economic and lend themselves to community participation.
Using local rocks and minerals in the mosaics provides a link and harmonizes with the sculptures' environment. The artists enjoy working with local inhabitants, both young and old, and encourage them to participate in the creative process. They enjoy lending their expertise to enable the people to become « artists », to produce sculptures in ceramics that can be incorporated into the statue. This collaboration produces an unique piece of art that « belongs » to the communitiy, rests in situe and hopefully becomes a landmark.
